Champions League outcome
First and foremost congrats to AC Milan in beating Liverpool in stunning fashion in yesterdays UCL final. It was obviously Liverpool's match from the beginning, but somehow they lost their 05' Istanbul magic and gave the match to the Rossoneri. Rafa Bentiez's decision to go with Jermaine Pennant turned out to be one of the few good moves he made throughout the match. Every time Liverpool attacked from the right, all you can see was Jankulovski looking at Pennant's backside. Yes, you can also say Bentiez's move going with Javier Mascherano was another brilliant one because it was Mascherano that basically isolated and shutdown Kaka throughout the whole match. But the fact the Rafa chose to go with Zenden on the left side rather than Harry Kewell, who played in Liverpool's last two match fit and ready to help the team could have been the decision that cost Liverpool the match. It was awful to see Zenden stumble and every time he got the ball. When I first saw Liverpool's lineup I wasn't surprised to see Stevie as an supporting attacker. After all he was the MVP and the "drive" during that 05' Istanbul run. Even though Stevie G is by far my favorite player it was depressing to see Gerrard having trouble with his passes and his shots. Im not blaming Stevie or Rafa Benitez for the lost, but as soon as the 2nd half started Benitez should've put Crouch in for Xabi and put Gerrard where he belongs and as the Center Midfielder. As most people would "the better team won," but I think in this case they are wrong. In the 1st half Liverpool was the better team, until the lucky tap-in by Inzaghi. After that 45th min goal, it went down the drain for Liverpool. Well I hope better luck next year for the team in Red...and Glory Glory for my team in Manchester...yes you guessed it i am a Man U supporter
